Poke Tuna

INGREDIENTS:

Makes one serving

1 strip scallion, cut into small pieces
¼ medium sized purple onion, diced
1/3 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
1 tablespoon sesame oil
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons Mirin (Japanese sweet sake)
2 ounces fresh sashimi-grade tuna, cubed
¼ medium sized English cucumber, sliced in thin strips
Pinch shishimi (Japanese seven spice), optional

INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix together soy sauce and mirin. Add sesame oil. Stir well with whisk. Add scallion, jalapeno and onion to marinade. Let sit, overnight.
 

Add tuna to marinade sauce; toss for a minute or so. Serve immediately in a martini glass, paired with the fresh cucumber strips.
