The Mixed Berry CaipiRuska [pronounced Kai-pih-Roo-skah] is Capital Grill’s specialty cocktail for June and puts a slight Russian twist on a summer refresher, the Caipirinha, substituting berry infused vodka for the cachaca liquor in the Braziian national drink. This well balanced cocktail, not too sweet, not too tart, is a perfect way to chill down after a long day at work or too much time out in the hot sun.
This recipe is deceptively simple, but the secret is the house infused mixed berry vodka which imparts natural sweetness without added sugar. Gaslight’s mixed berry infusion is seasonal and combines what’s fresh and available. The blend we sampled contained raspberries, strawberries, cranberries and blackberries. Yummy!
You’re welcome to try to replicate this creation of Gaslight’s head bartender Christian Leake; but we honestly recommend that you stop in and imbibe the real thing as a kick-off to Sunday Brunch or Happy Hour on the Grill patio. You won’t regret it!
2 oz. Mixed Berry infused vodka
1 oz. Freshe squeezed Lime juice
Shake the Vodka and Lime juice and then pour over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with lime wedges and fresh berries. Yummy!
